In January 2018, Mike Quigney decided to return to the course, and is once again a superintendent in the Pittsburgh area. We enjoyed having Mike on the WSI team, and we are thankful for our time together. We wish him the best in his next chapter!
Mike Quigney joined the Walker Supply team on February 1, 2017. Prior to joining our team Mike served as the golf course superintendent and general manager at Moon Golf Club for 11 years. Mike has worked in the golf business since 1994, and he has degrees from Ohio State ATI in Turfgrass Management and Point Park University in Business Management. Mike has lived and worked in the Pittsburgh area since 2002. He is married to Dr. Maggie Braun, an associate dean at Carnegie Mellon University, and they have two children, Andrew and Jacob. Mike was a Walker Supply customer for many years and has the rare distinction of having worked with 4 territory managers from Walker Supply during his career! Mike brings a wealth of experience and business savvy to our organization, and we are excited to have had him join our team. We asked Mike what he likes about the new position thus far, and he offered his perspective, "I enjoy helping people and finding solutions to grow healthy turf. Fortunately for me, this job is the best of both worlds!” Mike has been making his way around Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio over the last few months and covered a lot of ground in a short time. He said, ”I have visited approximately 150 golf courses in the last few months. There are so many smart and engaging people in this industry. It will be a great challenge finding ways to connect and provide the high level of service they expect. I'm looking forward to learning more about each customer and helping them maximize their resources." Once again, we are very excited to have Mike as part of our team, and we are confident he will provide the quality products and local expertise your facility deserves.
