SEASONAL TIP!
Make the correct preventative crabgrass application by choosing the right product! Crabgrass germinates when the soil temperature 1/2 inch deep is 55 degrees for 4 to 5 consecutive days. Before that time, use a product that controls crabgrass preventively - Team Pro, Prodiamine, dithiopyr, etc. Applications made after this point should contain dithiopyr applied at no less than 0.25 lbs of active ingredient per acre. This is the lowest rate that will control crabgrass in the early growth stages.
